World Environment Day: Making A Difference As An Environmentally Friendly Printing Company.

Saturday 5th June 2021, World Environment Day:

World Environment Day is a holiday all about teaching people about environmental issues, giving people the opportunity to change the habits they have that are affecting the environment, and work towards change. Having said this, we would like to use this time to talk about the changes we are making in our workplace to make a difference and ways others can help.

The first ever World Environment Day took place on June 5, 1973.

What we’ve achieved as an environmentally friendly printing company:

We are proud partners of the Woodland Trust’s Carbon Capture Scheme. From January 2020 – March 2021 we have created 74.64m² of new woodland in the UK, removing 2,986 kg of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. This is just the beginning of our journey working with them.

How it works:

The Carbon Capture scheme mitigates the CO2 emissions generated by the production, storage, and distribution of the paper we purchase.

We pay an additional £8.50, for each tonne of paper bought by our business.

A small cost to add great value to your print = sustainable print, big impact, customer loyalty and business growth!

Premier Paper, 2018

The trust uses this money to plant trees, that absorb carbon that would otherwise have been released into the atmosphere.

What planting trees for sustainable development has the power to do:

  1. Planting trees on farms has the potential to make the UK’s food production more productive, resilient, and environmentally friendly.
  2. Give everyone access to green space, which is, proven to boost mental and physical wellbeing.
  3. Trees clean our water, filtering out harmful substances and preventing soil erosion.
  4. We can’t combat climate change without trees. The Committee of Climate Change has called for 1.5 million hectares of new woodland to be planted across the UK to cope with the challenges of a warming world.
  5. Finally, trees and woods support a wealth of biodiversity – a single oak tree can support more than 350 other species.
We are an environmentally friendly printing company.

What you can do to celebrate this world environment day:

Learning about the effects of climate change and how you can make a difference is key to change. If you want to see what World Environment Day is all about, you could register for a local event near you and learn about how human activity has affected the world we live in. Invite friends and family members to join you and help them learn about what people can do to help the environment.
